Kevin’s career in hospitality began over 20 years ago at a Hilton Hotel while he was attending East Carolina University where he obtained a degree in Hospitality Management. Prior to joining GF Hotels and Resorts last year, Kevin worked for Island Hospitality as Regional Vice President of Operations. He was responsible for multiple properties in North Carolina, Virginia, and Michigan and was instrumental in contributing to programs which focused on internal associate advancement and employee retention. His extensive experience with Hilton, Marriott, Choice, and IHG allows him to lend support across the growing portfolio of diverse brands within our company.
Kevin won various awards during his career including Hilton Excellence in Operational Leadership, Hilton Most Improved Balanced Scorecard, Highest Hilton Service Scores, and an award for Revenue Management success. In 2013, his contributions as opening General Manager of the Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Chapel Hill resulted in Hilton’s Deal of the Year award, followed by the Circle of Excellence award.
Kevin resides in North Carolina with his wife Kimberley Rooney and two children Logan and Emily.
