Loren Nalewanski is a 40-year hospitality executive with over 35 years at Marriott International. He currently serves as the Managing Vice President, Franchising, for Marriott’s Select Brands in the United States. Loren and his team oversee all business transactions, while building and maintaining Marriott’s relationships with their amazing Owner Franchise community.
Prior to this role, Loren was the Global Brand Leader for Marriott Executive Apartments, with distribution in 16 countries, as well as the SpringHill , and TownePlace Suites by Marriott Brands. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in enhancing brand awareness, overall positioning and developing the new prototype for TownePlace Suites, positioning the brands as category growth leaders. His leadership contributed to the brands’ successes, including, receiving the prestigious J.D. Power Award for customer satisfaction for the TownePlace and SpringHill Suites brands. Today, TownePlace Suites boasts the largest pipeline in the Marriott portfolio, with over 550 open hotels today and 380+ in the pipeline.
Loren joined Marriott’s corporate headquarters in 2004 as Vice President of Work Environment and Talent Management for the Americas. He was instrumental in developing Marriott’s Associate Engagement Strategy, which continues to serve as a cornerstone of the company’s culture and talent initiatives. Over the course of his career, Loren has held a variety of leadership positions, demonstrating a commitment to innovation, brand excellence, and employee engagement
A native of Rockford, Illinois, Loren is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, with degrees in Hotel/Restaurant Management and Hospitality Management. He has furthered his expertise with Executive Certifications in Real Estate Finance from Northwestern University. Loren and his wife, Erin, reside in Northern Virginia, where they enjoy the privilege of living within 30 minutes of their four grown children.
